Gelato Mio was founded at 2003 at Coolum Beach, Queensland. At Gelato Mio, we carefully maintains the quality of all our products.
We believe that today’s mass-produced ice-creams and frozen desserts are no longer a healthy treat. Almost all the basic ingredients are heavily processed and mass-produced.
At Gelato Mio, we invest our time and resources in crafting a product from natural ingredients with the wholesome, simple and distinctive flavor that only real milk and fresh, local produce can provide.
Our fruit is hand picked - sourced by us from local markets according to freshness and sweetness. Our pineapples are grown in the volcanic soils of the glasshouse Mountains. Our bananas are slow grown in the Noosa hinterland, without the use of chemicals. Our local limes are what we believe to be the best in the country, and yes they are freshly squeezed. We use local figs, and our macadamias are locally grown and freshly roasted. We don't use any artificial colours or flavours.

Gelato Mio have won 7 gold medals, 10 silver and bronze medals at the EKKA. In 2011 they received the highest possible score for their award-winning hazelnut Gelato.
Gelato Mio has also been invited each year since its opening to the Australian Dairy Awards competition in Melbourne.
